A holiday in Das Walchsee Activeresort in Tyrol means: Enjoying a dreamy location, with breath-taking views to the lake, experiencing plenty of water sports, breathing in the fresh mountain air and exploring the lake from a wide range of perspectives. Here you get to have a go at stand-up paddling, rafting, swimming, fishing, diving, paragliding and water skiing. Even when the weather is bad, a leap into the water is guaranteed – and, into the warmth of the hotel pool in our Move & Relax area. This provides endless opportunities to relax, review an adventure-packed day of your holiday or to enjoy an indoor work-out.

Thanks to the ideal location right at the lake, our guests only have to cross the road once – the lake promenade with its bathing areas is just a few metres away. Whatever age – with us, every guest receives the Kaiserwinkl Card (free of charge of course) for the duration of their stay, with which they enjoy free entry to the lake promenade.

In the summer you get to enjoy a wonderful time at the lake with your children. Both on the lake promenade and on the east banks, there is a children’s play area. Little ones can run about here, while parents can enjoy the wonderful views to the lake and the surrounding mountains. You can either lounge on the large wooden jetty or paddle comfortably in the pleasantly warm water. After all, Walchsee is also the warmest swimming lake in Tyrol.

Anyone who adores activities and is looking for the perfect place for their children to run about, will find the bathing beach on the east banks of the Aqua-Funpark is just right. In the 800m² Wibit Aqua-Funpark there is

• sliding and blobbing

Lake promenade for families

Whether it is swimming or strolling at the banks of the lake – the lake promenade is especially inviting for families. It is particularly popular thanks to its flat lake access and tended areas of greenery. For children, there is a large water trampoline in the water, as well as an iceberg fixed in the lake. Our little guests also get to enjoy a big adventure in the children’s play area, which has a pirate ship, on the lake promenade.

Even in the summer the lake accompanies you in your swimming holiday, from the moment you wake up, until you go to sleep at night. Early risers for the most part will get to enjoy the jetty and the beach to themselves. In the dawn why not enjoy a refreshing leap into the cool water! After swimming a few lengths through the water, still shrouded in mist, clamber back on to the jetty and watch the sunrise.

With a surface area spanning 95 hectares and around 1.2 x 1.2 kilometres in expanse, all kinds of adventures await families around Walchsee. Since Walchsee reaches a temperature of around 23 to 26 degrees in the summer months, it is the warmest swimming lake in Tyrol and one of the warmest lakes in all of Austria.

From our family-friendly hotel for instance, you get to enjoy fantastic hikes, that delight children and adults – like the Smugglers’ Trail through Entenloch gorge, or an easy hiking path around the "Schwemm" conservation area– North Tyrol’s biggest moor landscape.
